The walls of this stunning residence hold a unique historical and cultural heritage: it was home to the famous Architect Felice Matteucci, inventor of the first stroke engine in 1854 (prototype of the modern day motor car). For years the house has been the summer residence of many renowned families in Lucca, today it is a luxury BB with six spacious bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms.

A Lovely place!
We stayed in the Junior suite, which is beautiful. The atmosphere of Dimora dell’inventore is relaxing, David is a fantastic hosts, and the breakfasts (and afternoon appetizers) were wonderful. We try to get to this Bed and Breakfast at least once a year - no other Bed and Breakfast compares to this one!

For those who want to get away from it all, this is your spot. With Luxury at every bend and a friendly host to welcome you, The Dimora dell’inventore is a 5 star hotel in a beautiful and enchanted section of the Tuscan countryside. My wife and I spent our anniversary there, and found every aspect of the Manor to be so very charming.

Che sorpresa!
Ero in viaggio per lavoro e a causa di un contrattempo mi sono dovuto fermare a Lucca. Guardando gli annunci dei B&B disponibili mi sono imbattuto nella Dimora Dell’Inventore e devo dire che è stata un grande fortuna. Sono arrivato con pochissimo preavviso e nonostante tutto David era pronto a darmi il benvenuto! I salotti comuni sono bellissimi e il tea point veramente un buona idea, ho soggiornato in San Paolino e la consiglio vivamente soprattuto per il confort la qualità degli interni e la pace che si respira. Al mio risveglio la colazione era veramente grandiosa e David pronto ad aiutarmi in qualsiasi cosa. Ci ritornerò sicuramente con mia moglie!
A great place
Me and my boyfriend we stayed here for a week during May and let me tell you that it was love at first sight! David the owner is very kind and helpful , the garden in huge and the lake with an island in the middle is the perfect spot for a romantic vacation in Tuscany! the atmosphere is very charming and relaxing the bedrooms are fantastic and the common livingrooms are perfect to relax, read a book, play cards with the other guests or just chill with a glass of wine! Take me back here!!!
Non aspettavo altro!
D’ora in poi sempre qua! Vengo a Lucca ormai da anni per partecipare al famoso evento “Lucca Comics & Games” solo che iniziavo a essere stufo delle solite stanze inventate sul momento all’interno delle mura della città ma al tempo stesso non amo molto gli hotel quindi, quest’anno ho deciso di cambiare e ho dormito alla Dimora Dell’Inventore. Premesso che il posto è fantastico, le camere sono bellissime e David (il proprietario) è appassionato come me di fumetti e giochi , quello che è più importante è che nonostante il B&B sia nella campagna lucchese risulta comunque velocissimo raggiungere la città! Consiglio vivamente a tutti coloro che vogliono vivere i Comics a pieno senza rinunciare al comfort e relax Ps: la colazione è uno spettacolo!!
